RAL COLOUR CHARTS - In 1927 the German Institute for Quality Assurance and Certification standardised and unified the RAL 840-HR colour range. Since then RAL has constantly adapted the colour samples to the requirements of the market and now offer three unique colour ranges.
RAL Classic
Introduced over 70 years ago, it has grown from 40 colours to 210. All RAL Classic colours are four digits i.e. RAL 6035 RAL Design.
Launched in 1993 it now boasts a total of 1625 shades. All RAL design colours are seven digits i.e. RAL 070 90 05 RAL Effect.
The most recent RAL colour range it comprises 490 colours, (420 solid and 70 metallic). All RAL Effect colours are 3+1 digits i.e.RAL 310-1
